God sent Ruth - Friendship

I was folding laundry tonight (YES, I'm the laundry person in our house!), and while doing that I began listening to another excellent message from my old pastor, Pastor Mark, from 1997. I became so excited to share it that I stopped what I was doing and went to the computer to begin uploading it, so I could post it here when I was done. Well, I'm done, and here it is. :)

This is a great message. Of course, I'm biased, but I really do think you'll get a wonderful perspective of God by listening to this! I really don't want to give anything away, because Mark really does a wonderful job of laying the foundation and making so many wonderful points along the way. I'll just say that the name Ruth means friendship, and Ruth the Moabitess ended up becoming a part of Israel. What's, um, interesting, is that God's commandment had forbidden Moatibes to ever enter into God's household, but yet here we have Ruth - friendship - coming into this fellowship.

Like I said, there are so many wonderful little tidbits throughout this message. I encourage you to give this a listen and let me know what you think.

  1. Joel,

HeHe...real men do laundry. Of all the household jobs, I enjoy laundry the most. Folding laundry is something you can do without thinking about it. You can so it while watching TV or listening to music or podcasts.

Thanks for the sermon, I will add it to my playlist and listen to it on my commute. Speaking if which, some other Christians I know probably think I am strange for listening to sermons nearly everyday. Maybe I am strange, but I just can't get enough of good grace-based preaching.

    In Christ,
    Gary

  2. Gary... so true... Unlike most other household chores, laundry folding can be done anytime, anywhere (almost). I sometimes put the basket up on the bed and fold clothes there while listening to the radio or CD's or mp3 player, as I was doing last night, and a lot of the time I do it in the living room while watching TV.

Hey, I'm like you... I listen to sermons and other great grace-based teachings just about every day! Can't get enough of it. It helps that I'm out on the road every day. Plenty of time for it.

  4. I should be uploading Part 2 today, and then folding some clothes and listening to Part 3, which I'll then load ASAP. :)
