The answer is always B - 11/18/08 - Decrease or Increase

What's the correct wording of Romans 5:20?

A. The law was added so that sin might decrease. Because where sin is increased, law is needed all the more.

B. The law was added so that sin might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more.*

C. "Increase your giving to ma ministray and I will surely be blessed." - The Extra Very Reverend J. Slick Breeze.

----------
*Bonus addendum to "B." I like the way The Message words it: All that passing laws against sin did was produce more lawbreakers. But sin didn't, and doesn't, have a chance in competition with the aggressive forgiveness we call grace. When it's sin versus grace, grace wins hands down.

  1. Slick always 'works' for me - the more I work for Jesus the more prosperity I appropriate...he slipped me ten bucks to post in support of him...was that wrong? Did I break another law? Is it wrong to steal fruit from the wrong tree?

  2. I hate multiple choice!!!

    I want essay!!

    Galatians 6:15 (The Message)

14-16For my part, I am going to boast about nothing but the Cross of our Master, Jesus Christ. Because of that Cross, I have been crucified in relation to the world, set free from the stifling atmosphere of pleasing others and fitting into the little patterns that they dictate. Can't you see the central issue in all this? It is not what you and I do—submit to circumcision, reject circumcision. It is what God is doing, and he is creating something totally new, a free life! All who walk by this standard are the true Israel of God—his chosen people. Peace and mercy on them!

B if it's for boasting in the Cross!!! :)

  3. WC, WC... WC!!! TEN DOLLAS??? IS THAT ALL???

Come on, you know you're holding back at least 85% of what you could give to ma ministray-uh. I heard you're on straake right now, so Ah'll cut you some slack, maybe about five dollas worth, but come man you've gotta lead the way here.

  4. RJW, you're very fortunate, because my holier-than-thou twin-brother from-another-mother in-a-parallel-universe's world, there is no grace for people like you who try to buck the system by answering a multiple choice question with an essay! But here that's just fine with me. Good answer, good answer!

"B if it's for boasting in the Cross!!!"

I just now figured out why the answer is always B on my tests... ;)

  5. Bah the way, WC, 'stealing fruit from the wrong tree' is the wrong way to look at it. As long as you give the best of your fruits into ma ministray, it doesn't matter to me from which tree it comes...

  6. Can I buy the tree?

Can you sell me a cloth to cut down the tree?

  7. Rev. Slick - What is your current ROI (Return on Investment)? ORM ministries is currently running an ad for 110% ROI on TBN, can you beat this? If so, my check is on the way...

  8. Returns? Returns??? You must return to the LORD (Malachi 3:7) and stop robbing Him by not sending your tithes and love offerings and other gifts and sacrifices to ma ministray!

Then, yes indeedy my brutha, I can surely beat 110%. Windows of heaven opened. Such blessing that there won't be room to receive it. Devourer rebuked, fruit on the vine, nations calling you blessed. It's win-win because it will mean even more seed for you to sow into ma ministray! And you can then buy WC the tree and the cloth that he wants.
