The Best Day Ever

This morning I woke up with a song in my head. I mean, I literally woke up with this song going through my mind. The Lord gave it to me to remind me that there is no time like now and there is no day like today.

The funny thing is... this is a song that has annoyed the daylights out of me! See, here in our computer room, I have two computers. One is used mainly by me (and my wife) and the other is used primarily by my kids. My kids have discovered youtube, and through it they found a song that they heard on a certain TV program - Spongebob Squarepants!

Having found several videos that people have created to go along with this song, my kids have listened to it over and over again, having fun and trying to memorize the words. This has been very annoying to me at times, especially when I'm sitting here trying to type meaningful blog posts. :-D

However... apparently my Father purposed for this to be His song over me as He woke me up this morning. As the chorus went through my head, I was very appreciative of my Father's love, and the blessing of LIFE that I have each and every day through Him.

I may (or may not) be the only one to ever get this message through a Spongebob Squarepants song, but just in case, here's the song that made my day today.

  1. You are not going crazy brother, I used Sponge Bob tune and a slide or two for a Seminary final Integrative presentation (Power Point).
At work I have a poster of Patrick and the Sponge in an 'American Gothic" spoof

Actually, a dear bros in Christ who might have scribbled in you blog and this grace Community; his grandson calls him: 'Square Bob, Sponge pants'

Haha...I had this song stuck in my head just the other day.

I hated spongebob with an absolute passion when it was first released. it made no sense, and I simply hated it lol. So I can understand the annoyance. However, after seeing it a few times it's not so bad.

"It's Leif Erikson day! Hinga dinga durgen!"

  4. I saw Spongebob for the first time several months ago and thought he was absolutely annoying. I wasn't planning on seeing him again so you changed my plans but I like this song.

Father speaks through strange vessels at times, doesn't he?

  5. Alvin... thanks for the 'confirmation.' :)

Matthew... The first time I saw Spongebob was when an old day care provider (an individual woman) gave my son a Spongebob video for his birthday, perhaps 5 or 6 years ago. I was not happy with what I saw, but somehow over time I've become less sensitive to it, and I even get a kick out of it sometimes! There's some "adult humor" in it, not meaning "bad" stuff, but just meaning stuff that adults understand, but kids don't necessarily understand. That's one reason why I was hesitant at first, but yeah, it's not so bad.

Nicole... The first time I heard the term "Krabby Patty" was when I first saw a Spongebob computer game with that phrase in it at the store. That's back when I still wasn't too sure about Spongebob, and I couldn't believe they were marketing this stuff to kids! However, as I said to Matthew, I now "get" a lot of it, and I think the show's writers are geniuses for coming up with "The Krusty Crab" and "Crabby Patties," as well as an underwater town called "Bikini Bottom." :D

Aida... Spongebob is not for everyone, that's for sure! LOL The show has grown on me, but yet I won't be sad if I never see another episode!

  6. Okay, Joel, are you sure about that? Are you sure you're not hiding some Spongebob videos in case there's a Spongebob famine? After all, you never know. LOL

  7. Ha ha, Aida...! Well, I suppose the show does resonate with me in some ways due to its weird humor, so perhaps I would miss the show more than I'd like to admit!
