Romans 5:1. The correct wording is:
(Vanna, I'd like a vowel and two consonants*)
A. "Therefore, having been justified by all the good things we've done, we have peace with God, as long as we keep doing all those good things."
B. "Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ..."
C. "Speak now or forever hold your peace." (But remember, forever is a mighty long time...)
*I once heard that many Wheel of Fortune contestants accidentally say "I'd like to vuy a bowel" rather than "I'd like to buy a vowel." I have no clue as to the validity of this claim.
Joel, you're right. Forever is a long time especially for someone who likes to talk. I have so many neat things to say. The problem is I can't always find someone who wants to listen so, I guess I'd better go with "B" on this one.

Well as I've heard it said before, we have the right to freedom of speech but we don't have the right to be heard. :)
ReplyDeleteStill, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" (Isa 52:7, Rom 10:15). Keep on a-tellin' the good news!
I want to pick 'Arny Johnston'to block!
ReplyDeleteAlvin,
ReplyDeleteBack in the 80's, MTV had a game show called Remote Control. One of the categories was "Dead or Canadian." :D (They gave a name of a well-known person, and the contestant had to guess correctly if the person was dead or Canadian). Forgive my ignorance and my complete out-of-touchness, but who is this Arny Johnston of whom you speak? Is he dead, Canadian... or what? :)
He was a comedian from the 70's that would appear on Rowen and Martin's LAUGH IN. He was best known as being portrayed as a German solder hiding behind a palm tree branch and saying 'very interesting'....latter on He was on TIC TAC DOE...three high, three wide....celebs would answer questions and the contestant would either believe them or not.
ReplyDeleteDead or Canadian...Does that mean we cannot appropriate Exchanged Life...since you have to be Dead?
By the way the Hollywood conspiricay is true...we are taking it over. I have to laugh also when I see all your media jabs at Canadians...that are hillarious. Most recent one seen was from theat 70's show in which they wanted to go to the border and tawnt Canadians knowing full well we would not engage in any such non sense.
Any old how U all are invited to our upcoming Seal Blubber festival in March and be sure to bring your snow skis in July for our Winter Olympics at are deferred to the Summer.

AHHH YES... Laugh In! I know what you're talking about. I'm familiar with the actor and his characters, but I didn't know his name.
ReplyDeleteYes, you Canadians know how to party! I'll be there for the seal blubber thingy, and I'll be sure to bring my toque, eh, and I'm hoping to try out some great moose meat recipes!
