Treasure

Have you ever considered that whatever God treasures, that's where His heart is? :)

Just within the past few years, the song "In Christ Alone" has crept slowly into first place over this song, as far as my all time favorite songs go, but yet this song remains in a strong second place and will always rank highly. So many times I have meditated, through this song, on God's love and goodness and on how He treasures me.

The video quality here isn't perfect, but it's not too bad either.

Iona - Treasure

"Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

28 "So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

Matt 6:25-30

  1. Hi Joel;

    Thanks for the perspective adjustment you suggest in the first line of this article, nicely done….

    I love this song!!!!

    I have “Iona Live - Heaven’s Bright Sun” CD and “Treasure” is song #2 on it!!

    You would almost think our meeting is a “God thing”…. :)

    I recently used the same Scripture on my other blog Creation on the Blade. The love of God is shocking in its absolute superiority to ours…

  2. Hey LS,

    Amen! I don't believe in 'chances' when it comes to our life in Christ. :)

    And amen again... God's love is absolutely shocking. In fact, to quote Paul Anderson-Walsh, "Let me be clear... God's love is absurd, it is irrational, it is irresponsible, it is downright stupid if you ask me."

    In a good way, of course. :)
