I posted this quote a couple of years ago but thought I'd post it again. It came in a daily radio prep email that I've subscribed to since my radio days.
If you're jones'n for some chocolate just give in. New research shows the more we try to fight off a chocolate craving, the more we desire it.
Sounds a lot like the effects of the law, doesn't it?
Haha! Yep, the second sentence in this quote describes the effects of the law, and the first sentence describes what the Pharisees accuse us of meaning when we say that. :)
I don't need a research to tell me that it is true, my experience is just that :)
My flesh don't work well with the law. So I am learning to dump the law and embrace the freedom in Christ and trusting him to keep me from lawlessness (including the one Gary mentioned :) )
[pharisee voice]
ReplyDeleteBut Joel, are you saying that if we are desiring our neighbors wife, we should just go for it?

Yep, I agree Bino. The research doesn't tell me it's true. My experience does! I had that experience with popcorn last night. LOL :)
ReplyDeleteAmen - "dump the law and embrace the freedom in Christ..."
