He is the man we were married to, who was very good and holy and just but who could only minister death and condemnation to us. We needed Mr. Grace instead (life, Jesus). But, according to Mr. Law himself, the only way to marry Another would be for one of us to die. Mr. Law was not about to die, so we had to die! And so we did die to Mr. Law, and then we were free to marry Mr. Grace, and be raised to life together with Him forever! =)Joel Bruesekehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10395847887953875757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29606082.post-24731937200088319532008-11-20T07:20:00.000-06:002008-11-20T07:20:00.000-06:00Rev 22:1-522 And he showed me a pure river of wate...Rev 22:1-5
22 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. 4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. 5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.

I see a Tree of Life here, but no more Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and "no more curse!" Lots of good fruit!

The fruit of the law was death and condemnation. Those under the law were under the curse. After the tree of the knowledge of good and evil came the curse.

The fruit of grace is abundant life, and good fruit! All of a sudden, much like your experience, the "light-bulb" went off in my head where the Holy Spirit showed me the source of what we were talking about (I can't remember now, hee hee, but it was good) was due to the Fall in the Garden of Eden, and I shared what He showed me about the two Trees.

Isn't it such a gift that Papa reveals these things in our minds and hearts like this?!

Thank you sincerely for sharing about your experience in the car! Yep indeed, I remember reading those posts....Amy... Yep indeed, I remember reading those posts. It's such a joy when I run into others who 'get' the whole Tree thing!

I remember a few years back when I first understood it. I had never been taught about how this story applied to the big picture of being dead in Adam and being alive in Christ. I was driving in my van at work, just thinking about these things, and suddenly it HIT me like a ton of bricks! I think I screamed... yes I'm willing to admit that... LOL... or maybe it was kind of like a yelp of joy (can I coin that phrase??), and I began pounding on the steering wheel as if in frustration that I hadn't seen it before but also joy that so many things suddenly began to make sense! Anyway... I think God has always wanted us to choose Life. There's nothing but death and condemnation in that other tree.Joel Bruesekehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10395847887953875757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29606082.post-78744748113602021282008-11-18T09:16:00.000-06:002008-11-18T09:16:00.000-06:00Joel,Definitely the Tree of Life! For some people, I think the "good" side of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, is the lesser of two evils... ;) But it's all 'bad.' Here, I'll make it easy: Choose Life. :)

WC... Gal 2:20 is GOOD! (In a good way). (Well, in a Life way, that is).

RJW... If Alvin stole your verse, then that makes him a lawbreaker. Fortunately for him, what he stole from you was Gal 2:20, in which there is life and not a battle over good and evil, so I think it's good (in a good way) all the way around!

And yes indeed - "no" to sin-consciousness. Only Christ-consciousness!

Lennart... Great point - it's not as if any of us would've made a better choice than Adam and Eve! And even after knowing the story, people still go after the wrong tree! Thank God for His grace and His love that draws us into Life.

Tyler Dawn... what can I say. I didn't go on the elijah list and find out that green is supposed to be, evidently, representative of the color of life. I thought it would make me have to run behind the bushes all day. Plus, the other tree had entertainment -- I mean, how often do you see a talking snake? Seriously. Tell me you wouldn't go listen to a talking snake, especially with the man droning on and on and on about the Longhorns, what do I care about college football? What is football? For that matter, what is college? I checked out the longhorns here in the garden and they just mooed at me. So, I think the man is crazy.

Maybe I should have eaten the green apples afterall..... especially considering the fact that the last time I listened to the man I started getting fatter and if this doesn't stop soon I am going to explode. I mean, what could be worse than being fat? Oh well, at least there aren't any other men here, that would definitely be worse, especially if there were three of them.Tyler Dawnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17021870354703680808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29606082.post-79889608433789549772008-11-18T06:22:00.000-06:002008-11-18T06:22:00.000-06:00Don't confuse me!
