They never lined people up to lay hands on them.

Today, those services have become a performance, a show done for entertainment. From what I've seen, all of that falling down changes absolutely nothing in the person. They all seem to get up and leave the same way they came in.Aidahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09885702269506142727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29606082.post-7920887067536169852009-02-19T12:05:00.000-06:002009-02-19T12:05:00.000-06:00Frampton aside, have you seen Billy Squire!!! OMG....Frampton aside, have you seen Billy Squire!!! OMG. He looks exactly like a neighbor of mine!

Also, Rod Stewart totally screwed up this song. I actually like Van Morrison's version he did with The Chieftains. Very Celtic. If you like Celtic music, The Long Black Veil is probably one of the best albums of the last 15 years. It has Mick Jagger singing an old country song!

You can hear a snippet of the Van Morrison song hereJohn Fincherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05458897526460534434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29606082.post-84370300425988719302009-02-19T10:47:00.000-06:002009-02-19T10:47:00.000-06:00Jamie,I'm not messing with the guy... did you see ...Jamie,

I'm not messing with the guy... did you see the two comparative videos on the blog post that I linked to... It's sad that people chase after these ministries to "get" what they already have. LOL... I missed this comment of yours. Sometimes I highlight several emails at once, to archive them or delete them, and I must've accidentally done that with the email I received about your comment.

Anyway... I've been in services in which people have tried to "push" me (usually my forehead), and since I'd seen others fall I figured that the Spirit would simply make me fall when I was touched or pushed, so I simply waited for something to happen. But nothing would happen. A couple of times the person would then push me again, as if trying to make me fall, almost as if they were embarrassed that it wasn't happening. But even in my naivety, I knew that if "I" made it happen by intentionally falling, then that wasn't of God! As I look back it just amazes me that people will try to make a show out of all of this stuff, when there is so much other wonderful stuff that God does in and through us on a daily basis, simply in the day to day things of life.

John,

I know who Van Morrison is, but I don't think I've heard much of his music. Great song here. I've heard the Rod Stewart version of that song, but I didn't know it was originally a Van Morrison song.

Watching the video... he looks so different than how I pictured him from his younger days. (Don't we all). :) I wouldn't have recognized him. Kind of like Peter Frampton in that Geico commercial a year or two ago. Mostly bald with a grey mustache and beard. Totally different from his bad hair from the 70's. :)Joel Bruesekehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10395847887953875757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29606082.post-4222315729108984072009-02-19T05:14:00.000-06:002009-02-19T05:14:00.000-06:00Beating a dead horse, here's some lyrics from Van ...Beating a dead horse, here's some lyrics from Van Morrison, who I think is a believer:

HAVE I TOLD YOU LATELY THAT I LOVE YOU

(Thanks for the tech tip!!!)

Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you there's no one above you
Fill my heart with gladness
Take away my sadness
Ease my troubles, that's what you do

Oh the morning sun in all its glory
Greets the day with hope and comfort too
And you fill my life with laughter
You can make it better
Ease my troubles that's what you do

There's a love that's divine
And its yours and its mine
Like the sun at the end of the day
We should give thanks and pray to the one

Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you there's no one above you
Fill my heart with gladness
Take away my sadness
Ease my troubles, that's what you do

There's a love that's divine
And its yours and its mine
And it shines like the sun
At the end of the day we will give thanks
And pray to the one

Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you there's no one above you
Fill my heart with gladness
Take away my sadness
Ease my troubles, that's what you do

Take away my sadness
Fill my life with gladness
Ease my troubles that's what you do
Fill my life with gladness
Take away my sadness
Ease my troubles that's what you do.John Fincherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05458897526460534434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29606082.post-11926291054004762142009-02-15T16:31:00.000-06:002009-02-15T16:31:00.000-06:00Joel, that Benny Hinn video was something else. I...Joel, that Benny Hinn video was something else. I've never fallen easily but I always was envious of those who did thinking that God was doing some great things in them. Occasionally, I would fall and was always disappointed. When I got up, I was exactly the same as before I fell. Nothing changed.

While that stuff may be a great crowd pleaser, it doesn't seem to accomplish anything but give people a momentary rush.

BTW, I have prayed for people and a couple have fallen or staggered. I didn't push but maybe they felt sorry for me and pretended to be hit by the spirit. Talk about an ego booster.

For a small donation of $100.00 or more, I'll gladly pass the gift on to anyone who would like to contribute to my ministry.Aidahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09885702269506142727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29606082.post-66325070733648685962009-02-12T18:55:00.000-06:002009-02-12T18:55:00.000-06:00Joel, We forgot about those Satanic dinosaurs, Led...Joel,

We forgot about those Satanic dinosaurs, Led Zeppelin.

Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on.

Stairway to HeavenJohn Fincherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05458897526460534434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29606082.post-90936952990066319062009-02-11T07:04:00.000-06:002009-02-11T07:04:00.000-06:00WC,I think I needs to order me a copy of that CD t...WC,

I think I needs to order me a copy of that CD to go along with my Metal Hymns cassette that I've had since the early 90's. :) That tape wasn't quite growling death metal like this one is though. The last time I really got into that type of music was on a Stryper tribute tape that was heavy and death metal most of the way through. Had some ok stuff on it.

Bino and Matthew, my fellow pushers... we all have the gift. It's whether we stre-e-e-tch out our faith or not that determines how much of an impact we make.
